'Ang Dating Daan' and "iglesia Ni Cristo'

It was one of those no-classes-boring-afternoon-nothing-to-do moments when I decided to watch TV. I was browsing channels when I stopped at Brother Eli Soriano's show, "Itanong mo kay Soriano" with the slogan, "Itanong mo, biblia ang sasagot" (or something like that). So the show goes like this, a curious person will ask Brother Eli in front of thousands of people and Brother Eli (who is up on stage) will answer the question using some verses found on the bible.

Brother Eli displays a well educated knowledge of the bible, and not only that, he MEMORIZED it. Like, hell yeah, WORD FOR WORD. People applause every after answered question and Brother Eli seems to love it. 'Ang Dating Daan' practically became famous because of Brother Eli for answering questions that were based from the bible and that is practically the main reason for its continuing increase of followers.

I changed the channel and was shocked to see Brother Eli Soriano AGAIN in the 'Iglesia ni Cristo' channel right next to the channel of Bro. Eli. So the channel of Iglesia Ni Cristo and the channel of Bro. Eli Soriano are actually right next to each other.

The 'Iglesia ni Cristo' shows Brother Eli giving out statements that completely contradicts his previous statements, they show his inconsistency of words and they would even go as far as interviewing a former member of 'Ang Dating Daan' and telling them how it ruined her spirituality.

I have nothing against the members of these two religions but this has become my form of entertainment when I have nothing to do.

nice observations. and if you will try to scrutinize deeper the roots of their conflict, then you'll really see who's telling lies.

i've already done that.

and now i know which side speaks the truth.

i watch those channels too especially at midnight. in fact i anticipate the debate between the leader of ADD - Eli Sorian and the leader of INC - Erano Manalo.

Erano Manalo is bedridden, says a friend who works at his mansion in San Juan - the reason why he's not even appearing on their tv shows; likewise, on the debate.

follow on Mike's comment:

Bed ridden or not He haven't appeared any episode of their show and not appeared any of the debate which they are involved at all.

Hehehe now we know who is really missing in action.

the Catholic Church remains to be the most structured and methodical church for me. although i'm also an audience of Br. Eli Soriano - i am pleased about his effort, wit, drive and intention of bringing God's words - i just find his shows entertaining. enlightening, yes; but not enough to displace my Catholic faith.

i was once a catholic too and i must say the best part of being a catholic was being open-minded. :-)

i know several catholics watch soriano with a varying degree of fondness or dislike. but they do find time to watch it, somehow.

i believe listening to brother soriano is part of a liberal catholic's lifestyle or at least it should be...

hey, may God help you on your quest to sainthood... and i do hope you have more days when you have time enough to watch brother eli, he he.

:-)

For me, both don't tell the truth and the only way they can keep each other's money that is still inside the pocket of their followers is to demonize each other for potential spiritual flirting and proselytize.
