Own comment to my own post......

This post is addressed to the people who made a comment to my post "my journey to sainthood"

Through you, i have experienced burdens that Savio has experience... and i'll remember this up to my death... i'll pray for all of you...

and it is REALLY possible for a person not to commit a sin in 3 or more days... kung ang araw na yon ay para sa Diyos, at iaalay mo para sa Diyos... it can be possible not to commit a sin... tska... di ko po ipinagyayabang na banal ako... and i dont need to do a miracle to show that i am holy... basta... it's your mind to think that i am conceited... think whatever you want...

(especially the fransiscan formator in the vatican)

thank you thank you thank you for giving me hope... and God bless you too!!! hayaan mo nlng sila... pray for them nlng, and i'll do the same... hope that I could meet you someday...

wag po sna kayo magmura... or say foul words... tnx...

The thing called 'tae'

ang tae pag inapakan dididkit sa sapatos

marahil....

nakakadiri pakingan...
nakakadiri basahin...
nakakadiri iimagine...

As far as I'm concerned, this is the first post na nakakadiri ang content

If you underestimate a person... ang alaala nito... didikit sa isip mo....

How to start your day right

St. Isidore, the farmer, started each day by rising early for mass. On many occasions, by the time he reached his field, he found it already tilled by his angel.

How do you begin your day?

like St. Isidore...

let us not allow work, family and social life to get in the way....

Instead.... let them bring us closer to God.

My Journey to Sainthood

I tried to imitate the life of Savio
I tried to influence souls
I tried to offer my day to God
I tried to visit Christ everyday
I tried to be sinless as long as possible
I tried to become a holy person
I tried to be patient
I tried to receive Christ everyday

and lastly.... I tried to become a Saint

St. Dominic Savio was 14 when he died. I'm already 14... and still I have not yet felt everything that Savio has felt

I did felt some... feelings like...

the feeling when you pray and you dont notice the time passing

the feeling when you have made 2 enemies to become friends

the feeling when your soul separates from your body while you pray

the feeling when you forget yourself and think of others

the feeling when you influence your friends to be much more closer to God

and lastly... the feeling when you are called to sainthood...

All of us are called to become saints; its just that we dont hear it.

I want to become a saint... my dreams in going to hevean became much more advance... and now, I WANT TO BECOME A SAINT...

when we die and go to heaven, we become saints... it may not be official in the vatican... but deep in our hearts, we are indeed saints... even dogs are saints... everybody who die and go to heaven... are saints...

I have greater dreams... I want to become a saint... a saint which is officially known in the vatican... a canonized saint...

but the question is..... HOW?

My journey to sainthood has started... and obstacles are waiting for me... and obstacles are doing their best to stop me... but no obstacle can stop me... when I'm armed with the Love of God, no one can stop me in pursuing my dream to become a saint.

So mark my words... I WILL BECOME A SAINT...

The relevance of a girlfriend

What is the relevance of a girlfriend?
What good could it possibly do?
What sacrifices are we willing to do?

Bakit?

kase walang maidudulot na maganda ang girlfriend sa iyong buhay... no one taught these things to me or to anyone else... it's a matter of realization in life...

marahil masasabi mo na, "ang gf ko lang nagpapasaya sakin" or, "di ko kaya ng wala siya" or, "mahal ko xa e" or, "buhay ko xa!"

mga tao talaga! hehe

pero tignan nalng natin mga after 3 to 6 months, mag bebreak din kayo... at sasabihin nyo sa isat isa na "di na kta mahal"'

funny.... yet, come to think of it, we are so stupid when it comes to problems like that... madami sa mga kaibigan ko ang may gf na.... and according to my observation, everything that has happend became worst, much worst than I could think of....

what good can a girlfriend do? when you have your best friend to comfort you?

what good can a girlfriend do? when your Father is there to counsel you?

what good can a girlfriend do? when you have God in you?

people say that their girlfriend is everything to them... but how can you say that your girlfriend is everything to you, when you can have God? at least sa Kanya, sigurado ka na nasayyo na lahat...

Im not saying na di ka dapat magka gf.... sinasbi ko na we must wait for the right time to come...

Another Route

After the 3 Kings visited the child Jesus, it is said that they took another route, a route in order to avoid Herod.

The same thing will happen to us when we die and meet God face to face

We take another route, abandon, forget old and familiar ways and walk new and different ones.

Sometimes, when the persons you love most die, most common that you will be sad, and for sure that you will cry.

My friends, everything happens for a reason. Death is a part of life... kaya nga merong dasal na "prayer for a happy death"

When people die, we cry... but come to think of it, we should be happy for that loved ones that have died... sarcastic is'nt it? but it's true...

We should be happy because he has finished his mission in life... and now, he is given the chance to see God face to face...

how fortunate you are...

You can keep a rosary in your pocket

You can pray anytime you want

You can go to the church at your convenience

You can hear mass as you wish

You can speak aout your faith and God anytime and anywhere

But not many are as as lucky as you...

In some places or countries, it takes much effort, pain, sacrifices, and even risks to do that!!!!

Now... Do you realize how fortunate you are???

Some people dont... some would even say, "why do i need prayer for? i can live without it!!!"

what foolish people!!!!

we must take advantage of ourselves in prayer...

use our time to pray....
live your life in prayer...

Sabi nga ni Mother Teresa of Calcutta...

"We need able to pray. We need prayer just like we need air. Without prayer, we can do nothing."

The thing that I just wanted to say is that we must give importance to prayer. Live your life in the hands of God... Live your life in prayer...

Pacquiao V.S. Christ

Today is sunday...

then they call themeselves catholics?

then they call themeselves followers of Christ?

then they call themeselves children of God?

"you must set your priorities right
and the right set of priorities are...

  1. God
  2. Family
  3. Work"

The living apostle

Jesus chooses the twelve and sends them on a mission...

a mission to preach...
a mission to heal...
a mission to convert...

a mission to spread God's Word to all...

Today... centuries later... the apostles continues to work in all corners of the world.

and guess what!

YOU ARE ONE OF THEM!

What mission did He gave you?
Where does He send you to spread the Good News?
Did you accomplish them?

The sheep of His flock

Sheep are trusting animals, they just follow those in front even if it means falling together over a cliff!

They are so vulnerable to theft and attack that they have to be led, guided, protected, and watched over by their sheperd.

When we say that 'the Lord is my Sheperd', we admit that we are all sheep...

Sheeps that are weak, vulnerable, and needy for the sheperd's care...

Here's the question...

Are you letting the Sheperd guide you?

lahat tayo gwapo!
lahat tayo maganda!
lahat tayo artistahin!

wala syang ginawang pangit!!!

lahat ng nakikita mong tao... gwapo! pogi! maganda! lahat sila magagandang nilalang!

Narnia interpretation

Like the movie Narnia, our life can experience the time of seemingly endless winter and coldness...

Everything is cold
Everything is frozen
Everything is dull
Everyhting is boring
Everything is loneley

But things are as hard as stone...

We feel down...

It's because of this hard time that we think of joining forces, uniting, and bringing out the good...

or maybe the best within ourselves

But in the end..... Hope rises....

Children

In today's Gospel pays special attention to children.

A child isn't just a baby
A child isn't just a toddler
A child isn't just a rugrat

It's a gift...

It's someone weak.
It's someone dependent.
It's someone poweless.

It's someone innocent...

Here is the question...

Are you one of the children who can be so weak and dependent before the Lord?

Focus on your powers and the abilities that make you less needy of God...

How much prayer is important

Sometimes... we forget to pray... we forget it even if sometimes we promised it... and the thing that strucks me most is that we only pray because of the problems that surrounds us, and sometimes, when our prayer is answered, we dont even say thank You...

When we pray, the voice of the heart must be heard more than the proceedings from the mouth.

+St. Bonaventure

I have said before, "if we pray not from the heart, we sin"

I'm very sorry for that statement of mine... It's quite foolish of me to say such words. I have commited a mistake, and that mistake i will correct...

I'ts sunday midnight, I'm the only one awake in this house... while I was thinking what to post in my blog, I suddenly remembered the post I made few months ago... the post having a title, "prayer not from the heart".... you'll no longer find it my blog, I have already deleted it...

I once again remembered that God knows everthing... I also remembered that He can hear anything... So God hears any form of prayer... so I come to realize that even if the prayer came not from the heart, he still hears it. Our prayer may come from our heart, mind or mouth...

It does'nt matter where your prayer came from, the important thing is, that God hears it.

Family time

It's funny when we say that we are too busy to pray.

Come to think of it, we are too busy that we need the more to pray!

We need to SEEK right focus.
We need to FIND our bearings.
We need to GAIN our momentum.

We owe it to yourself and our God...

Have some quality time with Him... Hey! it's a weekend! weekends are spent to the family! Come home to God!

The past

Did you do anything foolish in the past?
Are you still bothered about it?

Why dont you just sit down anbd relax.

We must gather ourselves no matter how bad is your past... even if your past includes the destroying of another soul...

Whatever happens, it is the past.... it belongs to the past.... and especially, you cannot change it

Dont let it worry you...
Dont let it stop you...
Dont let it overcome you...

because if you give in, it may stop you from pursuing the many possibilities of today.

Everyday is Christmas
Everyday is your birthday
Everyday is your day

Why dont you have it your own way?

Unwrap the gifts of God to you and share it to all. That's why the blessings of God are given today... today in the PRESENT time where the past is gone, God has given you a PRESENT

Here's a story that i just want to tell...

I have a friend... I will not mention anymore his name.
He once said to me, "rods! lamo ba, Friday the 13th sucks!"

and i believe that some of you reading right now also agrees that friday the 13th sucks...

but for me, it doesnt sucks...

because for me, everyday is a blessing from above... the date, condition, or mood doesnt matter...

what matter most is that we are awakened by the grace of God...

The Voice of Faith

If you choose, you can make me clean

+Mark 1:40

The leper's words are worth considering.

Listen to them! we can hear the deep conviction, strong certainly in his voice. It's this faith that moves Jesus to say, "I will be clean"

Here is the question...

When you listen to your own voice or words, can you hear the voice of faith???

Many excuses not to pray...

Very early in the morning before daylight, Jesus went off to a lonely place where he prayed

+Mark 1:35

He who finds excuses not to pray.... Get a reminder from Jesus Himself.

It is important to be quiet for a while, to talk and listen to the Father...

When was the last time you really prayed?
When was the last time you confessed?
When was the last time you were forgiven?

Sometimes... People pray, just because they need something... but after getting what they want... they dont even say thank you... Kaya sometimes I ask, ano yon? dadasal lang kapag may hinihingi?

Sabi nga ni Mother Teresa...

Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at his disposition, and listening to His voice in the depths of our hearts.

The shoulders of those who had gone ahead

In Tokyo... there is a Church... The Jesuit Chutch of St. Ignatius

Below the church lies a crypt...

A crypt where many are burried.

That church, has a statemant... a very beautiful and powerful statement...

the church rests on those who have come before us. We are carried on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead....

Your faith has been built on and shaped by the faith of many...

Who are these people in your life that have influenced you to be good?

Who are these people in your life that have corrected you?

Who are these people in your life that have uplifted you?

Have you thanked God for giving you those kind of people?

The Water....

Water is life...

It has been the one, nourishing, cleansing, and healing us.

It is also death, drowning, choking, and poisoning.

At baptism...

It is poured over us.

After being poured, we are reborn in God's love and invited to die to ourselves and our selfishness.

What do you need to CLEANSE in your life?

What do you need to WASH away in your life?

What do you need to GROW in your life?

What do you need to NOURISH in your life?

Goodbye Christmas

Christmas decorations are set down.
The bright lights are gone.
Christmas carols are not to be heard anymore.
Movies relating to christmas are not any more shown.

But before you think it's all over........

Listen.... December 25 was two weeks ago....

But the work of Christmas has just begun!!!!!!!!!!

What work of Christmas are you called to do...

When the sparkles are gone.
When the jingles fade away.

And when the hustle and bustle are back?

The next Saint Dominic Savio

I have said a couple of times, "I will become a saint".... I even promised to other people that I will become a saint.... but now, I come to realize, its hard to become a saint... It takes a lot of sacrifices, a lot of good deeds, and it takes miracles to become a saint...

But I will not stop!

as the saying goes... "there can be miracles if you believe"

and I believe... I believe that i can become a saint!

Some people who knows me very well said, "your too sinful to become a saint", for some, "it's impossible for you to become a saint"...

But I tell you this, "when it comes to God, nothing is impossible"
why cant i become a saint.... the saints you know today once became human... and all human beings are sinful... which means that the saints you know today are once sinful...

Take St. Agustine as an example... He was a very immoral person in his time, he spends his money on prostitutes and hores... He had sex 5 times a day.... one can say that he is very sinful...

But he changed and repent on his sins... He became a priest, a bishop and not long to become a saint.... now you see, saints you knew are once sinful...

Before posting in this blog, i once again read the life of St. Dominic Savio (my idol).... i was once again reviewed of the things he had done.... and i tell you this... if he was able to accomplish his dream to become a saint, why cant i?

I can become one....

Like St. Savio ...

I may not float in the air while praying
I may not miss from eating in exchange of prayer (of course, ill get hungry!)
I may not be the brightest person in class
I may not be respected (unlike the respect that Savio has gained)
I may not have a scapular that minimizes pain during labor
I may not come up with sayings that inspires (not like Saint Savio)
I may not influence all of my friends to be holy (im trying my best)

and lastly......

I may not be as impressive as St. Savio

but i can be... and i will be if i believe...

By doing my ordinary duties extraordinarily well, i think im in the right path, the path that leads to everlasting life, the path that leads to sainthood...

There must be some things that i have said, that you dont agree with... well.. if there are some... feel free to comment... tnx...

Mirror His goodness

Start your day with a prayer of praise: The Lord is good; the Lord whose kindness endures forever, and His faithfulness...(Psalms 100)

Created in God's own image, we are called to mirror His goodness to all, to sow seeds of goodness and nourish them in all our hearts.

What good can you do for others today?

What good can you do for God?

What good will you do in your life?

What new years are for...

It has been 3 days....

3 days has already been spent in the year 2006 and we all want to feel good, do good, and be good.

Maybe this is what new years are for...

To welcome times of personal renewal as we look back and look ahead...

Just a little reminder....

"The reward for a deed well done is in having been able to do it."

-St. Alberto Hurtado, SJ

Following Him

"we have found the messiah"

It's not only the sheperds who do so. Later in the weeks readings, the apostles also do when Jesus calls them.

What joy must have filled their hearts when they saw the Savior with their own eyes!

Can you also say: I have found the messiah?
Can you say you are following Jesus?

How to become a Saint

If the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church is to be believed, it is really rather difficult to become a saint. There are several requirements. First, one must be dead, which does tends to dampen the ambitions of many a popular preacher! Second, one must have lived a very virtuous and holy life. Not necessarily from birth, but certainly from the time when a person first began to follow Christ in earnest. Third, one must have produced at least two ‘miracles’, that is, unusual phenomena that may not, after careful investigation, be accounted for by reference to the normal processes of what is ‘natural’. It is quite permissible, as it happens, to produce a miracle after you are dead. Cuthbert of Lindisfarne, for example, was exhumed from his grave several times over a period of three hundred years, and his body had not decayed in the way that bodies should. To the Roman authorities, that kind of thing will boost your sainthood score enormously. Of course, sainthood was not always so. In the New Testament a saint is simply a disciple, a person who has heard the gracious call of Christ to follow, and chosen to obey that call out of a fundamental faith and trust in God. At once level, then, sainthood should never be understood as something one may ‘earn’ through a life of exemplary virtue or heroic deeds. For sainthood is a gift—the give of God’s love and forgiveness in Christ. It is also true, nevertheless, there are those who really believe and trust in this love of God, living their lives out of its power, and there are those who don’t. In the passage from Ephesians that we read a moment ago, the writer prays earnestly that his hearers will live out of the enormous power of God, demonstrated in the works God wrought in Christ for our salvation. Note well, the power is God’s, not ours. Yet the writer still feels the need to pray that such power may become the most important fact in his hearer’s lives, which implies that they are not yet the people God has called them to be. It is in this sense, then, that I can see some point to all the Roman posturing about sainthood. Underneath all the rules and procedures, under all that detritus of centuries, what the canon-law of saints really says is this: that saints are people who shine with faith and trust—not in themselves, their own virtues or achievements—but in the virtues and achievements of Christ on their behalf. This, then, is the paradox of Sainthood or, if you prefer, discipleship. Disciples live from a power, a virtue, a miracle which they have not generated for themselves. They depend, utterly, upon Christ. Yet, it is precisely that attitude of dependent faith which makes them radiate with goodness, care and compassion. Think about it. If we have died to ourselves in baptism, if we have been crucified to the basic values of this world, then the life we live in faith is not our own life at all. It is God’s. It is the divine life that was made human in Jesus. We rise from the waters to live the life of Christ: to imitate and repeat his life in our own. In this perspective, the amazing faith of the saints is nothing more that a grace that is actually believed in and received, rather than considered but then put aside when it really counts. What is the difference, then, between a Martin Luther King Jr. and your average church attendee? From God’s perspective, not a great deal! God loves both of them. God forgives both of them. God calls both of them to die, to take up their cross and follow Christ into a quality of life and love that the world cannot give. Yet one of them chooses to live from the power of this gracious call, to trust in its power, and the other (one suspects) does not. One chooses to love as Christ loved, loving the neighbour even to the point of great personal sacrifice, which the other perhaps chooses to put faith aside when the going gets tough or when there is money or status at stake. One really believes that Christ’s life, no matter how difficult, is the only life worth living. The other suspects that Christianity is impractical, a set of admirable ideals mind you, but not to be lived too literally. This morning you and I are called to be Martin Luther King Jrs. To let go of all our hungers for health, wealth, family and security—to surrender such things into the hands of God—and to hunger instead for the commonwealth of peace and justice that Christ will bring. A hunger for the kingdom is exactly like the hunger for food. If you are starving, if you have nothing to eat, you will do almost anything to find nourishment. You will travel hundreds of kilometres over rough and dangerous terrain, like the refugees of South Sudan, in search of the one thing you need to sustain life. So it is with the desire for God’s kingdom. It is a desire that consumes all else, a desire which comes to us as a painful longing that the world might be different than it is, a desire which drives and motivates us as though it came from a place other than ourselves. And so it does, for it is the desire of God!The saint is not one who gets everything right, who is always successful and admirable. The saint is one who trusts in God, who believes God’s promises, even when the chips are down and there seems little foundation for faith. The saint is one who, in a sense, becomes who he or she is because he or she is first able to allow God to be who God is, and this in the midst of a body and soul given over to God to do with as he wills. This is a calling not simply for the especially intelligent or gifted or capable. It is a calling for us all, because in the end sainthood is not about self-generated achievement or sanctity. It is about trusting that Christ will complete his work in us, even when our sin looms large. It is about believing that we will get there because Christ has promised to get us there.

Day to day living

Look not back on yesterday so full of failure and regret; look ahead ang seek God's way-all sin confessed you must forget

-Dennis Delthaan

The doors of wisdom are never shut. Open up to wisdom for day to day living. Listen and learn.
